BIO
Who could have guessed that Clifford the Big Red Dog was going to change Chris’ life forever? His earliest memories of design include replicating the entire series of Clifford books page-by-page. At the age of six he was making his own books, and by sixteen he was publishing a ‘zine with subscribers worldwide. He had no idea that was a job – it was just a labour of love. It’s amazing what you can do when you put your head down with Stiff Little Fingers cranked.
Fast-forward twenty years, and he’s still doing what he loves; only now he gets paid. As an Art Director and Graphic Designer he has worked on projects from leading BMX brands, to some of the most select real estate projects in Vancouver. Adaptability and diversity is what he’s known for. Well, that and his relentless pursuit to getting it done right, and on time.
In addition to design, Chris is deeply involved with the action sports industry. Working with a team, he has put on some of the most prestigious events on the BMX calendar including the legendary Red Bull Elevation contests and the Metro Jam BMX contest series around the world. He has been an active Director of the Vancouver Skateboard Coalition (VSBC) since 1999, working with the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Park Board on solutions for youth parks. Most recently Chris has been a lead member working with the Vancouver Park Board in the development of the Vanier Park Dirt Jump Park in Vancouver which opened in October 2010.
Chris is an avid cyclist, snowboarder, swimmer, camper, hiker and lover of the outdoors.
Oh, and he still listens to Stiff Little Fingers.
